Always the same ad that is never blocked for over a year and the change, deep, of youtube design. This ad is very big on the home page of YouTube mobile version and at the top above all the videos. Only this ad to force its passage. The same thing happens on Google Search and its unblocked ads. Android browser (Chrome) + AdAway or other adblockers (tested). Same with YouTube Appa123 wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 4:40 am ads on youtube mobile, ff60 (responsive samsung s5) + ubo

I make a new tests to verify your results and take some screenshots, results:
-Ads blocked in Firefox with UBO and Adblock Browser (works recently).
-Ads NOT blocked inside Samsung Browser with Adblock Plus for this browser.
-Ads NOT blocked in Opera mobile Browser with its own adblocker, same with Youtube desktop version (big video ad for same bank ad youtube mobile version in top of youtube desktop homepage).
Opera, I rename OparADS, bypass all adblockers with or without turbo mode to display all ads (include outbrain on french news), even worse, Opera display ads inside it's homepage with news, news and ads can be disabled inside Opera parameters. Same problem with Opera(ds) mini.
Opera very bad idea to use if you hate ads.
Screenshots here:
Samsung browser (and chrome browser): https://vgy.me/CbgYOh.png

Opera homepage with ads with news displayed (new ad display regularly if I scroll down to see more news): https://vgy.me/EoiuIB.png https://vgy.me/iss2Tt.png
Note: I've Adblock Plus on android, lists updated, and works even if this application is no longer updated because it is abandoned by the developers, in rooted Android.

Is it possible to remove annoying recommended videos from right-side list using filters?
I hate recommended videos so much because it keep shows me same videos that i already watched. Youtube keep using workarounds when we disable history, delete all playlists and liked videos so Youtube can keep showing recommendation. Even i created new account with history disabled, and don't use playlists and liked, it still gives me recommended videos that i already watched again and again. Without using Google account, my recommnadation will be based on my IP permanently and it does show me same videos.

Thanks, the filter works. "Recommended for you" are gone.
I just discovered that Google just made a workaround that shows me recommended videos I already WATCHED without labeling (Recommended for you). It has been transfered to my all other account since I used the account on same IP.
I know nothing we can do about, but this is annoying. I don't know why Google are so crazy about recommended videos workarounds. This is the violation of EU law and there must be option to fully opt out recommendation (if i'm correct). History are disabled of course. I think i'll expose how this system works to everyone on the internet. Sorry, i'm just angry about recommendation

The ad has reappeared on Adblock Browser, in fact, what happens, in my opinion, is that Youtube and Google put a cookie or something in the browser to bypass the ad blocker so that next time in YouTube (and probably Google Search, because I have not checked) the ad appears despite your filters.
That explains, for you Smed, that the ad does not appear, you visit YouTube after purging your browser traces, as is the case with Firefox on my side and the time I cleaned Adblock Browser before making the screenshot.
Should we clean up all traces before visiting each time, the homepage of YouTube and Google search, ie all lose and stay disconnected from his account history that there is no cookie (and other traces) already registered in the browser, to no longer suffer this extremely aggressive advertising oppression?
That also explains why, in my opinion, some people here complain that they will be exposed to advertising once they have logged into their account.
There would be a solution, DIY, avoid the home page while allowing access to subscriptions, trends, his account and video history. It is to block the buttons to access the main page (home of YouTube) and put in the favorites or shortcuts these addresses:
Trends:
Subscriptions:
His account: (which allows to access in particular his history and the videos of the account)

Google and so YouTube has hardened its aggressive advertising policy to encourage its users to pay a Red Youtube premium account, that's why I think Youtube (and other Google services that have benefited too) has ads from more and more difficult to block and more and more intrusive and frequent. Proof in the news.

I am aware that Adblock DOES block ads, but some ads like Mike Braun's political keep slipping by. Just, double check ad make sure these are not only blocked, but are metaphorically forced to walk into a wall covered in 2 foot microthin spikes to [REDACTED: This got way to gory as I was writing this so I just replaced it with this redaction.]

You can use ubo on Firefox (also on mobile) to hide manually elements and add manual filters, Firefox is only browser who accept addons on mobile like desktop browser. So warning, don't delete datas on firefox app on phone settings, all ads appears especially on m.youtube with it's big ads on homepage and videos, it's a pain for me grrr.

Google has changed apparently yesterday ther ads rules on YouTube especially on mobile version, I see video ads on certain YouTube channel who owner integrate video ads unskippable (tested on Opera mobile and Chrome mobile and Samsung browser).
On Firefox Mobile (with ubo) and Adblock Browser, same videos I see ads on other browsers has stuck on loading and YouTube recommand If video not starting to restart browser.
I think ads and private datas collection, only one domains where GAFAM engineers work perfectly despite other domains like bugs, ergonomy and users' attempts.

The similar videos are not the first ones. When logged in, they appear in positons 11 to 15. When not logged in (private browsing), they appear in positions 14 to 16. I think it might be random where they appear in the results.
