Re: Overhauling Changes to WHOIS
Many registrars and registries (especially European registries * ) have followed suit and now only show minimum technical data for domain names in public WHOIS to company with GDPR. Well now we can goodbye to datamaps of cyber criminals created through WHOIS, even the RoughTed adblock malware was ma...

Tracking in uBlock (ublock.org)
Interesting things have been happening at uBlock ( ublock.org ) for the past few months, the project that was handed over Aljoudi (not uBlock Origin/uBO). The project's admin was changed on GitHub from Chris to an account named " uBlockAdmin " in March, which for all intents and purposes s...

Just so you know I identify as a duck... There was even a show called " Dog with a Blog " which probably took inspiration from this. Also, it appears that this is a common phrase regarding online anonymity: https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/On+the+Internet%2c+nobody+knows+you%27re+a+dog...

Now even DENIC has stopped the automated system for checking WHOIS data, you can only get registrant data if you are a the domain holder yourself or a public authority. (https://www.denic.de/webwhois-web20/en Check a domain such as

Afilias, Neustar, Nominet, and Donuts have all started redacting WHOIS data for their managed TLDs. (This would cover a large number of TLDs.)

The Danish domain registry for .dk domains will not redact domain WHOIS data. It states that it is required by Danish law to publish contact details for .dk domain owners therefore GDPR will not apply to these domains. https://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/en/news/danish-whois-database-will-remain-illuminate...

Re: Overhauling Changes to WHOIS
Looks like registrars/registries will be following the " ICANN Temporary Specification " approved on 17 May which specifies providing minimum data for WHOIS records. And from the looks of it, it will only provide the Registrant Organization, State/Province and Country . This what GoDaddy s...

From manually checking one third (1000) of these detected websites, we find that the websites that have no visible reactions constitute over 90% of the cases. The filte...

The .im registry has started redacting all contact data from WHOIS searches due to GDPR. For example if you look up zpn.im ( https://www.whois.com/whois/zpn.im ), it clearly states this: This information has been redacted to comply with European Union General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Also it looks like the cryptojacking is dying out, haven't seen any website like that recently.

Didn't realize that such single digit IP Addresses still operated. Wonder who controls the others such as 2.2.2.2, 3.3.3.3, etc.; probably the old ISPs or registries.
The 1.1.1.1 seems to be controlled by APNIC as the article says.
