ads packaged INSIDE flash games

Post by Iller »

Any cool ideas how to put a right quick end to flash inline ads like those from MochiAds? There may be others but this is the one that's sparked my irritation enough to register on an adblock forum ;)

Am I correct in assuming that because its an object operating inside the browser it communicates with servers the same way the browser itself does? and subject to filtration by the adblocking extension?

Your assumption is basically right.

Due to an oversight in the Gecko engine, this dosen't happen yet however
(This is not a problem in Adblock Plus).

Blocking things loaded by Plugins or via XMLHTTPRequest will be possible
in Firefox 2.0.0.4 and SeaMonkey 1.1.2, both due to be released within a
day or so from now.

@ Iller

If you have just updated to the new Firefox 2.0.0.4, are you still able to see the ads in there?. They could possibly NOW be seen it the 'blockable items' list with the "TYPE" of the request listed as "Other'.
