Hi,

There's a common word in Turkish web sites: reklam

It means "advertisement" and is at the top of the list of words of most-blocked elements by ABP. You can treat it like

Code: Select all

*ads*
.

*reklam* is more or less false positive filter in Finnish and Swedish sites.

FYI - The EasyList filter is geared toward English-language web sites. Rick does not intentionally filter non-English sites (even though EasyList works on some of them).

Like MM says, I USUALLY don't do non-english blocks, but I have added some main advertisers from non-english sites even though they are few and far between.

If what you added was impresionesweb.com, you should add sta-ads.com. And */rmtag3.js|$script,match-case (used on a few domains) and cpxinteractive.com.

*/stb.msn.com/i*.swf cleans up all the stupid bell ads.

I did add *.impresionesweb.*...
Edit added: *.sta-ads.*

The other 2 give me a queazy 'false-positive' feeling. I think I had both in my list before but had to remove them (I did that before I used a false-positive log).

But if you could point me to a site that uses these Peng, I may re-evaluate them.

I was just browsing http://forum.softwareblaze.com

And I noticed the banner ad when you enter some of the forums.

Adding *redirect.php?banner_id=* to my block list seems to have made it go away.

Just an FYI. :)

Hi Lanik ... and welcome from DSLR :)

Oddly enough, I tried to find that string there, but all I can find is a couple of 'first-party' image-banners on the top there (which I'm sure you have probably already taken care of). I can't find that string anywhere in the blockable items list.

Do you have a more direct link to the problem or is it a random thing?

Are you sure that it wasn't:

Code: Select all

forum.softwareblaze.*/banners/
or just some sort of

Code: Select all

*/banners/*
... or something like that that you blocked it with?

I get the banner by going to http://forum.softwareblaze.com

I also get one by going to this page: http://forum.softwareblaze.com/viewforu ... 3ee042dcc3

These are the banners on top of the page I'm talking about here is a screen shot:

Image

The link is: http://forum.softwareblaze.com/redirect ... 3ee042dcc3

And the banner image is: http://forum.softwareblaze.com/banners/avginetsec.png

Thanks for the welcome. :)

Now I see. You must have "Check banner links" turned on. I don't recommend having that on with my filters because of the false-positives that will happen with them (but YOU can keep it on if it works for you). That is why it is now "off" by default in Adblock Plus. "Check banner links" also slows "ABP down a bit too.

I personally would have blocked the images themselves, not the link from them with:

Code: Select all

forum.softwareblaze.*/banners/
"Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it"

Yes I did have "Check banner links" enabled.

Thanks Rick. :)

when you have a website hosted by them they now give a nasty java based ad that does not close and obstructs the ENTIRE page in firefox. please add

http://media.funpic.org/layer.php?bid=

into your filterlist to block it. im sure this is not in the correct format for your list but im sure you can fix it for me :) as just an example here is my site to test if it is properly blocked or not

http://xmoser.xm.funpic.org/

thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

My filter suggestion for that is:

Code: Select all

http://media.funpic.*/layer.php?bid=*$script
Because there are .de sites too, like: http://gimpel.gi.funpic.de
But does that JavaScript layer jump only once per session or something?

the filter:
funpic.de/layer
already exists in my adblock program(not sure from which list) so the .de websites are not affected for me. perhaps that is why i did not knowtice. if this filter is already on this list then maybe it would be a good idea to update it...

I am now locking this particular topic as it will be easier to deal with submissions by their own individual topics here
