xenforo.com

Post by Penguin1 »

1st post, so bear with me. Apologies if in wrong area, or already a topic (i searched on 'xenforo' but could not find this Anti -AdBlocker)

This add-on:

Code: Select all

https://xenforo.com/community/resources/adblock-detection-anti-adblock.7175/
is detecting Ad-Guard in use on iOS (13) Safari/Brave.

The Detection can be hidden on Firefox (PC) with a combination of uBlock Origin (with default blocklists) and Ghostery (allow GoogleTagManager on the xenforo hosting website).

Tried various Ad-Guard rules to try and remove the anti-Adblock Msg from appearing.

The description of the Add-on says It uses a random number named div ID related to the unique ID feedback of the display of the Ad.
Not sure why the combination on Firefox (PC) works.

Example of website is here (via a URL shortener):
https://cutt.ly/jfIoKnh

Example of another website - but I don't think they are using the latest version of the AdBlock (via a URL shortener):

Any fixes or specific rules to be added (bearing in mind a solution is required on iOS)?

Thanks

For the first site I added a fix in uBlock Origin annoyances list

Code: Select all

bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk##+js(nosiif, removeChild)
for the second site (redcafe.net) I see no anti adb warning / stuff

However, for iOS you should report directly at adguard repository (on github):
