The following filter in EasyList (easylist_specific_block.txt):

Code: Select all

/gelbooru\.com.*[a-zA-Z0-9?!=@%#]{40,}/$image,other
Is tested for every request of type image (common) or other.

Unless I am mistaken about its intended purpose, is it possible add ~third-party to it to at least reduce the amount of time blockers have to execute the regex?

Also, if it's meant to match images on gelbooru.com site, it would help to anchor the regex so as to trigger early bail out, i.e.

Code: Select all

/^https?:\/\/[\w.-]*gelbooru\.com.*[a-zA-Z0-9?!=@%#]{40,}/$image,other
Currently as it is the whole URL has to be scanned for the regex pattern.

Yes, I assume testing against domain= is cheaper than executing the regex.

Got a problem with URL hijacking I think

Example page

Code: Select all

https://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=4942231
Image of the problem: https://i.imgur.com/GphhNgB.png

If you use "open in new tab" (middle mouse button) functionality on the source URL, the page will be treated as an ad or has been injected by an ad. Ublock closes the tab immediately. Same behavior with open in new window or click directly.

Surprisingly doesn't happen on twitter URLs though (further testing required).

uBo version ?
FF version ?

Be sure keeping all default lists enabled in uBo.
Test again using only uBo and disabling the other addons.

I think they're also injecting ads on outbound links.

You try clicking a link that takes you to, say, pixiv or another 3rd party site. Ubo will detect ad popup and then close the tab.

There's also ad injecting, if you successfully open the link, the links in those tab somehow triggers ubo closing the tab due to ad presence.

Not sure what the proper term for this issue is.
