I am also able to load site but since yesterday have had issue with ads appearing. I have updated subscriptions without success in removing ads. I am running ABP for firefox. Have tried removing and reinstalling also. Ads started appearing yesterday 6/7/17. I am not experiencing ads on any other websites that I visit (so far - that I have noticed).
As a newbie to investigating ad blocking problems I must admit I'm not positive I'm looking in correct location for blockable items. If I click on ABP icon and then select "show all requests" (while on drudgereport) I do get a list (blocked, whitelisted, hidden). The working filter you list is not listed on that page (but I'm not positive I'm in proper location to see "blockable items"). Thanks for your help!
smed79 - I did as instructed. Now running ABP 2.9.1. Scanned with malwarebytes (found zero threats) and then ran AdwCleaner (found 3 threats). I ran AdwCleaner until xero threats. Ads are again being blocked on drudgereport. Thank you very much for the assistance on getting my issue resolved!!!!
I updated easylist yesterday and it resolved the issue. However, ads are once again present on the site today (perhaps due to changed abp avoidance tactics)
Yes. I just disabled all other extensions in Firefox and still see the ads. There seem to be two sets of ads with different positions, one set that is displayed if the page is accessed with no ad blocker and separate set that is displayed if an ad blocker is detected (these are base64 images, unlike the ads that are presented without an ad blocker).
The only working work around I've found is to edit about:config in Firefox, removing "data" from extensions.adblockplus.whitelistschemes
Now the ads are gone again. I changed nothing, they have just started being blocked again???......also, to reiterate, I am seeing no ads on other websites I'm visiting when this issue occurs on drudgereport.com.
Just as a note, "ABP" 3.3.4 in Firefox is AdBlock, not Adblock Plus.
