many sites are there...for example https://upload.so/ep4mzqexn7cf
I tested again in 2 adblockers, 2 browsers (chrome / FF), all fine here using the filters above.
Remove all other custom filters for that site, if any.

for upload.so add
only the first filter is for blockadblock crap
Usually it's enough for a generic site example.com adding:
Code: Select all
@@||upload.so^$generichide
||cloudfront.net$domain=upload.so

last filters for blockadblock.com

These always work and are perfect for the BlockAdBlock script

EasyList seems to be whitelisting a domain blockadblock uses.
Disabling EasyList makes some of the filters suggested upthread work perfectly.
I've creating a thread asking them to update this in EasyList but it's awaiting approval still.

Not sure if it's useful to fix the actual blockadblock site, wouldn't that just be stirring the hornets nest?
I can see it being completely valid to fix blockadblock out side the site. Not only that, we'll be constantly maintaining a tit-for-tat arms race with an Anti-adblock site that many people simply don't visit.

Do share, what domain do we whitelist?efiltsohg wrote:EasyList seems to be whitelisting a domain blockadblock uses.
Read the locked thread I linked above; disabling EasyList gets rid of blockadblock. I don't have time to look at 57000 lines and figure out what the culprit is but something in EasyList is definitely preventing filters from blocking blockadblock.

You're completely misunderstanding my point, possibly willfully.
I can manually block all the ads I want, and subscribe to any number of adblocking lists, and as long as I block the domain blockadblock.com I never get those popups - even though I'm blocking all ads on the relevant site.
The second I enable EasyList in my adblocker it overrides my filters and allows blockadblock popups again.
If EasyList devs want to allow blockadblock for whatever reason that's OK but at least admit it so people like me know to find other solutions.
Blockadblock is an incredibly simple javascript and frankly it doesn't matter that the site can tell I'm using an adblocker, because I can still easily get rid of their popup warning and browse as normal.

@efiltsohg, which is the whitelisted domain ?
How should I know? I'm not the one who wrote it into the list
If you can't be bothered to backup your claims then nobody is going to take them seriously. That's your right. Throwing accusations around that have no merit doesn't do anything to find a solution, just keeps adding to the problem.efiltsohg wrote:I don't have time to look at 57000 lines and figure out what the culprit is but something in EasyList is definitely preventing filters from blocking blockadblock.
Please provide an example where blockadblock.com domain appears anywhere in EasyList.efiltsohg wrote:If EasyList devs want to allow blockadblock for whatever reason that's OK but at least admit it so people like me know to find other solutions.

@efiltsohg: you don't understand how it works.
If you disabled easylist this means blockadblock function will find nothing blocked so it wont push out any warning window.

If you have a specific issue, report which is the page and someone will find the necessary filters.

Sure, that's why i have referred him to https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42628intense wrote:@efiltsohg: you don't understand how it works.
no, you have not to look 57000 lines, you only have to use the features in your adblocker ("blockable items list" in ABP or logger in ubo)I don't have time to look at 57000 lines and figure out what the culprit is but something in EasyList is definitely preventing filters from blocking blockadblock
Obviously we're dealing with someone unwilling to do anything other than complain. Welcome to the generation i or whatever the millennials are called now days.

No site uses blockadblock.com as 3rd-party, they just install the script generated by blockadblock.com's "wizard" as inline script in the HTML of their pages. There is no point blocking blockadblock.com. For example,efiltsohg wrote:as long as I block the domain blockadblock.com I never get those popups
