Download direct ad. Click it and it'll take you to another site and try to install an exe.

Didn't notice that. I was talking about the green Download Direct link. I wouldn't recommend clicking on it..

Your code works for the cloud ad. There's also an ad in the privacy section.

the direct download is already hidden, refresh your settings, lists, re-enable eventually disabled filters. Try using only easylist see if other list is the culprit.

This is really strange. If I have Disconnect or Privacy Badger activated, the green Download Direct ad shows up. But Disconnect and Privacy Badger aren't using any rules on that site. I can whitelist that site on the extensions, but it'll still show the ad. If I go and disable them via the Extensions menu in Chrome, then the ad will go away.
Is there someway that ABP is interfering with Disconnect and Privacy Badger?
Like I said, there's no rules in those two extensions that are causing the ad to show - just the fact that they're active (even if the site is whitelisted).

Thank you Khrin.
Can you please investigate the issue with the green text DOWNLOAD DIRECT ad that appears when I have Privacy Badger or Disconnect active?

I'd try filing issue reports on Privacy Badger's and Disconnect's GitHub repos and also link to the the issue report in the other repo than the one your posting in, so that they can collaborate in finding the cause. Don't post issue reports in both Privacy Badger repos though.terrorist96 wrote:Thank you Khrin.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've since moved on from Disconnect and have switched to Ghostery, which doesn't have this issue. I have made an issue report for Privacy Badger though.

I'd recommend not using Ghostery. It shares user data with the advertising industry nowadays: http://www.technologyreview.com/news/51 ... -industry/

I'm aware of Ghostery's monetization tactics. I disable the info sharing. Thanks for the links. Will check them out.

According to gorhill, the issue with the green DOWNLOAD DIRECT ad appearing is due to ABP, not Privacy Badger. See here for info:
