Thanks, intense. Based on that github page, it seems that FB is trying really hard to get around adblocking.

Please add the following line (right-hand ads will be hidden):

Code: Select all

FB is constantly showing annoying ads (sponsored or "related" pages) in its news feed.
Those lines start with:

Code: Select all

www.facebook.com###u_jsonp**
Unfortunately, I am not able to find a workable general line to exclude those annoying ads from being displayed (showing new numbers or other random combinations of words and numerals).

I've same problems, like Google, Facebook change ads system, I've a FB Purity script, powerful to block all ads, now despite this script, I see ads on marketplace and newsfeed! Ads everywhere one ad between 3 posts or marketplace products, very intrusive, facebook worst ads system I ever seen and my computer are clean (no adware for example).

I can definitely confirm that sponsored ads are showing up in my main Facebook feed while using uBlock Origin 1.20.0 with the filter lists in the below screenshot.

same here. I am thankfully fine as long as I use the chronological feed. But as soon as I switch to the standard feed, I am seeing sponsored content. I used facebook unsponsored on greasemonkey for a long time, but it no longer works and the creator seems to have disappeared

I'm seeing them even on the "Most Recent" feed.

I have dealt with those seperately with the element hiding feature. It's a lot of work, but currently the only way to get rid of these annoyances

URL:

Code: Select all

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/
An ad appears in the above URL (in my case, only shows up when logged in). It is not a "boosted" (paid) Facebook marketplace listing, but an unrelated ad.

This is on uBlock Origin 1.20.0 and Chrome

From my understanding of how Facebook's anti-adblock techniques work one needs to use a recursive filtering algorithm to break their obfuscation. From what I've seen none of the current available generalized adblock filters are capable of this although it is trivial to do in a simple javascript based filter. I had tried creating a new type of ublock origin filter but it wasn't accepted due to being too use case specific, I think it may be possible to create a generalized version however. Is this something anyone has been working on or would be interested in working on?

I can't reproduce this in a screenshot, but annoying ad videos are suddenly reproducing during normal videos. Is there a topic for this? I searched in forum but I have found nothing.

Is there a way to block those "suggestions"? They are most "ads"

What is the better solution against the annoying video ads that invades the regular video during its playing in Facebook?

Note: I searched for "facebook video ads" in this forum and I didn't find any topic that was opened already.

Hello, I don't use Facebook for more than a year, but I had good results with this third party extension. You should try it to see if the filters are up to date.

Code: Select all
