The page with the movie player appears after clicking on "Continue to the video", and preserves the above link.
After few seconds clicking on whatever part of the page, included the player, opens up a new tab with an external link.
It looks as if an invisible banner cover the entire body of the page.
I inspected the page but found nothing.

Browser: Firefox + NoScript allowing only nowvideo.li
Ad Blocker: uBlock Origin 1.7.7b10

The popup is closed by adblock plus for me.

The uBlockOrigin logger says that not all popups are filtered, and there is no blanket-blocking of popups for nowvideo.li.

These popups not filtered redirect to others adservers already blocked by easylist.

I added the filter but nothing changed.
The invisible popup continues to generate itself at every click of the mouse.
I cannot see it with Web developer.

I am not using Chrome but Firefox.
Neither uBo logger nor Web Developer detect any 'data:text/htm' popup.
I tried the above filter in uBo but does not work, that is the behaviour continues to be that described by the first two vid.me links.

Although I configured uBo to block all popups for nowvideo.li, that popup still persists and the logger says it redirects to 'about:blank'.

I got a nasty popup on my 1st try using Nightly + ABP today. So since a filter won't make it to EasyList, I will just add one to uBO's own filter.

Yes, today this was the one I got first in the chain of popups. yesterday it was best-bar.net as seen in the screenshots at https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/78.
