There are ads on this page that can not be permanently blocked by the adblock extension, using Chrome btw.
Code: Select all
http://thewatchseries.to/episode/the_sopranos_s3_e10.html

Some script activates a meta refresh
Code: Select all
http://thewatchseries.to/episode/11_22_63_s1_e7.html
after watching a serie, the page is gone and many advertisements have been loaded. returning is difficult
i suppose its this script:
<script type="text/javascript" src="
http://178.17.164.58/script/ad.js"></script >
which i cannot remove with adblock.

Thewatchseries website is currently loading up adverts in a div that keeps changing name ever time the page is loaded.
See screenshot here:
http://s32.postimg.org/pyhlssf5f/example.png
Steps to reproduce: Open any of the programme pages.

This only works on some of the pages at thewatchseries.to website.
It does not work for example on the page:
Code: Select all
http://thewatchseries.to/cale.html?r=aHR0cDovL2dvcmlsbGF2aWQuaW4vMG9qM3Qzdm42ZHpo

@@||jsc.mgid.com/t/h/thewatchseries.to.50923.js$script
That's the nastiest script I have ever seen.
That filter works on /cale.html pages on this domain.

I'm not convinced any whitelisting of mgid.com is needed, it works fine for me. Apart from the occasional popups on gorillavid when it redirects.

These ads are pulled through a websocket connection.

Need this filter:
They use a new websocket server to pull their ads, meaning it occurs on FF as well (ABP included -- wait ~5 seconds), example:
Code: Select all
http://thewatchseries.to/cale.html?r=aHR0cDovL2dvcmlsbGF2aWQuaW4veDBlM252eWk2MXh2

http://thewatchseries.to/cale.html?r=aHR0cDovL2RhY2xpcHMuaW4vdzAxMDFxaWZjbXp3
still has ads. it never did a few weeks ago. i dont know whats up. i tried reporting and followed instructions.
boom! still there.

Hi, Rhana from AdBlock here. The suggested filters aren't working. I'm seeing "From Around the Web" ads on thewatchseries.to in Chrome with either AdBlock or ABP. There are no ads in Firefox with ABP.

@Rhana, the suggested filters are not working anymore (now, after 16 days).
Well, you are from adblock, right ? I saw no filters from you.
however, try this filter
Code: Select all
@@||advertisingwouldbegreat.com^$script

That's a websocket damnit! You need to block the websocket connection from happening.
https://github.com/gorhill/uBO-WebSocke ... -filtering
This is the only way to stop it. No amount of static filters are gonna stop it from loading.

Mark91, just try the filter I provided above, it works very well in ABP / adblock. It's not the "only way to stop it" in this specific case (page, site).

No thanks, every static filter I havw tried is rendered worthless within minutes as it generates content via WebSocket and yes it is the only ultimate way to stop it. You clearly don't know what WebSockets are and how they actually work. This is not a file or a div you can block.

no thanks what ?
yeah, I know all the discussion about websockets, here, on bug tracker of ABP, on gorhill site ...
Again, you don't understand: the filter above stops the ads.

only when the adblocker is "detected" ==> they use websockets ==> whitelisting the script above the detection is removed.

@intense, that filter (@@||advertisingwouldbegreat.com^$script) does indeed work, thank you! I'll pass it along to our user who reported this.

The connection is coming from ws-gateway.com. Even after adding your pointless filter, the connection happens UNLESS I block ws://ws-gateway.com
Blocking ws-gateway.com is the only way to stop it. Dont bother to argue with a guy in a denial complex. It loads after a refresh or a new page, which you wont notice it anyway.
