Hi,
I am the owner and creator of the web analytics tool redistats.com
EasyPrivacy contains this:
Code: Select all
||redistats.com^$third-party
And while Redistats respects privacy (we don't use cookies for tracking or collect any IP numbers) I agree that all kind of tracking scripts should be blocked by a list such as EasyPrivacy, that is fine.
The problem is that also the iframes of the web stats are being blocked for the site owners.
For example this is a URL of a dashboard view:
Code: Select all
https://redistats.com/stats?gid=2&pid=12&hash=7ee21a2f90a50e738a4ae20f6d9fc399
And that URL is loaded in an iframe on another domain such as when using our WordPress plugin or in the website builder n.nu (20 000 sites).
I solved it for me personally using this in My filters in uBlock Origins:
Code: Select all
! Allow Redistats stats iframes to be loaded
@@||redistats.com/stats$subdocument
But I regularly get emails from users of N.nu that the web stats are not loading, causing frustrations. Can the above line also be added to EasyPrivacy?
Please also note that I launched Redistats in 2013 and I always kept the same URLs and never tried to circumvent any blockings.
Thanks a lot and I really appreciate the work being done on these lists.
