A recent update to Fanboy's Annoyance list is over-filtering youtube.

It is blocking pop-out UI elements:





whatever filter is causing it needs more specificity.

I have run into this problem before. I have managed to block unwanted pop-ups (such as the blue bubble to recommend you to join a channel, and the youtube surveys) with these filters:

thanks! If i recall correctly ytd-popup-container is the parent of some stuff that we would want to block, i'm not sure how it's interacting with the rest of the annoyance list so i'll have to test this out and see if anything else comes up. will report back if i notice anything amiss.

When using "Fanboy's Annoyance List' with ublock origin you are unable to open your "notifications" on youtube when you click them. I've been using this filter for quite some time and it only recently started happening, but immediately stops after you disable it.

1. Add Fanboy's Annoyance List
2. Clear data: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
3. Allow browser notifications: chrome://settings/content/notifications
4. Login to Google account
5. Open: https://www.youtube.com/account_notifications

Hi there,

I'm having trouble with YouTube.

I use AdBlock (the one with the getadblock.com website, not the other one that's called similar and has a similar logo) and YouTube was running laggy af lately, so I contacted Google to get support and we arrived at the conclusion that it was the ad blocker.

I checked troubleshooting from AdBlock and disabling EasyList in the options makes YouTube run perfectly well, but enabling it makes it get all laggy and not work properly. It'll even get to just freezing the entire page and the "wait / close" dialog shows up. Hovering the mouse over any video would normally have the mouse change from the regular arrow thingy to the hand with the index finger up, but that doesn't happen right away. It takes around a second or two for it to show up. You open a video and the audio plays but the video gets stuck for a few seconds. You wanna pause or play and the same thing, a few seconds for it to work. It's annoying af lol

I checked and see there are no reports for YouTube here on this section at least, so I'm not sure if I'm the only unlucky user who's having trouble or if no one else isolated it to this, and both seem unlikely to me tbh, especially the last one, so idk what to do.

I leave it to you to please provide a bit of guidance on how to proceed.

• install uBlock Origin from: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... phjbkeiagm
• test again

At least we'll understand if it's about the extension itself or the list
