when opening sites like

Code: Select all

techcrunch.com
or

Code: Select all

engadget.com
it redirects me first very shortly through

Code: Select all

https://guce.advertising.com/collectIdentifiers?sessionId=...
Tested with latest ubo in Firefox, Edge, and Brave.

This leads to two issues for me, #1 the tracking problematic and #2 if using a DNS blocker (I am using PIA with build in Mace, which uses Peter Lowe blocklist for DNS blocking -

Code: Select all

pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/
) the sites just get killed upon redirect. I can disable or whitelist guce.advertising to solve this, however it leaves the tracking issue.

is there a possible filter or script to stop the guce.advertising tracking/redirect on the mentioned sites?

Do these filters help ? (uBO)

Code: Select all

||guce.*/v1/consentRecord?consentTypes=iab$xhr,1p,redirect=noopjs
||yimg.com/*/guce.js$script,redirect=noopjs

they do not, unfortunately. Behavior is the same: Case 1) DNS Filter active - dead site (because of guce.advertising tracking redirect), Case 2) DNS Filter not active - EasyPrivacy whitelists the guce.advertising tracking redirect - user gets tracked and data is sent to guce.advertising. I made a gif of the issue for both cases on both example websites (techcrunch and engadget): https://i.imgur.com/PtxUCWl.gif
