Reuters.com video [fixed]

Post by chrisdab »

I currently cannot play video with EasyList subscription. With subscription off, video plays but with ad video before. My old Filterset.G subscription on another computer plays video flawlessly with no ad video before it. I hope you can follow what Filterset.G did with reuters video.

Would you be able to host the old Filterset.G list? Even though it is not updated, it is a beautiful filter list.

Do you have an example of Reuters video?

The answer to that is no unfortunately: http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_project#filterset.g

Are you using Adblock or Adblock Plus?

Are you still using the Fiterset.g filters too?

Why would we host g's filters? .... no one here is going to maintain them. They are not recommended for ABP and haven't been updated for a year. That whole filter project has been dead!

Where is this reuters video problem?

@Rick: Instead of allowing the ads to get the video to work, you can also block them this way:

1. Remove the new whitelist

Code: Select all

@@/mediacdn.reuters.com/rcom/ads/*.flv
2. Change

Code: Select all

to

Code: Select all

3. Block

Code: Select all

.lightningcast.*/getPlaylist?$domain=reuters.com

These were the 2 filters used for filterset.G on reuters video:

I think I got it now. This wasn't a problem until recently. Check and see if all is well.

ps: G's old filters and mine work on a whole different system. I have to find out what works best on MY subscription as they are very different in the way that our rules handle things. What works ok on his might not work right on mine .. and vice versa. But thanx anyway.

Here, the videos seem to be playing fine now ... with no ads. I used $domain options .. so nothing is whitelisted :D

PS:
Thanx Ares .... most of those you suggested were pretty much just what I ended up doing. I actually read those changes afterward and that was the way it worked out here. Great minds thing alike

Gotta love that $domain option ;-)
