a lot of video content providers place video ads before\after\in the middle of the actual content. can abp deal with it?
some do it with simple WMP videos and some with more site-specific flash movies.
will be happy to know how i can remove those ads.

Most ads in flash videos can be blocked with Adblock Plus, I don't know about ads in wmv's, but as long as the ads are loaded from an external source, it should be possible.

the video starts with an ad and only then comes the content (between the ad and the content there is a 3 seconds splash video which i think should stay).
is there a way to hide this?

I think the ad is actually part of the video feed. If that's the case, then nothing can be done.
