Then I decided to try Chrome and identical settings, and it actually worked on the first attempt
So I guess that Firefox is messed up somehow

These filters did not work on Firefox when I tried to watch this video:

I subscribe to EasyList and nothing else.
For what it's worth, when I select all and paste the filters into my custom filter, they get pasted in this order, and I can't change it in Adblock Plus:

@smed79: I went back and added EasyPrivacy to my subscriptions and that, plus the three filters referenced above, did work for me. I'm not a technical guy, but maybe you don't need the added filters at all if you've got the most recent EasyList and EasyPrivacy?

you mean video ads on cbs.com ? link ? are that show a free one ?
CBS content used to get through with having ublock off, allowing one ad to get through and turning unblock on once the show started.
But today, if you have ublock on, after the show plays for about 40 seconds, you get this message:

cbs asking to turn off adblock as of sep 1, 2017, was free to watch before and I updated easylist but did not help? Do I need to add the codes from over a year ago?
