Google will distrust all existing Symantec SSL certificates starting with October 2018, and Symantec will have to rebuild its entire certificate issuance infrastructure from scratch if it wants to remain in the CA (Certificate Authority) business.

They announced this a while back last year. Symantec has already sold off its certification business to Digicert, don't think they'll be rebuilding a new cert infrastructure anytime soon.

They announced this a while back last year.
They announced they will distrust thats all, this is the outline which wasn't announced until Chromium version 70 went in Canary, so no. This is now in effect as rapidvideo.com became one of those first victims with their uploaded videos no longer playing until they get issued a new SSL Cert.
