Fixing Windows Update in XP SP3

Good news: Microsoft offers free technical support for Windows Update and that support provided a solution to my problem.

I haven't seen this problem myself, but it's something to watch out for. There are several possible solutions listed in the posting and comments.

Well, I know WU is working OK for me here since I DID receive the update that broke my Zonealarm
