I found this interesting:

http://www.sunbelt-software.com/ihs/ale ... m3b_US.htm

It compares all of the big players in anti virus and grades them side by side, if your interested.

EDIT: I just discovered that one of my collegues took it one step further and transformed it into a numerical format to give an overall grade to each. (rename RBS to XLS Attached)

I've seen this on another site. This is the test where Kaspersky received a D.

Well... Just wait until Kaspersky 8.0 comes out! It's going to beat all of them! :P

I'm a Kaspersky beta tester and a loyal forum enthusiast though! :D

Damn Antivirus 2009 :S

Get Avast or Antivir, both really good antivirus.
I use Kaspersky never gotten infected since I got it, but costs money.

My security combo includes avast! & Spybot S&D. Never experience any problem since invoking them!

I have experience about antiviruses. I have used avg. I think its the best at removing viruses. IT has detected all of the viruses from evrything. But the only problem is dat it slows down pc. Can u recommed an antivirus dat is equally good as avg but doesnot slow down pc. I have used norton but it couldnot detect trojan horses.

I can recommend you something better than AVG not equal. That is avast!. You see after first installing avas!, I ran both AVG (I used AVG before avast!) & avast! side-by-side. AVG didn't report anything but avast! reported 100s of them... couldn't believe AVG was so incompetent...

“Master Foo,” he asked “why do Unix users not employ antivirus programs? And defragmentors? And malware cleaners?”

Master Foo smiled, and said “When your house is well constructed, there is no need to add pillars to keep the roof in place.”

The novice replied “Would it not be better to use these things anyway, just to be certain?”

Master Foo reached for a nearby ball of string, and began wrapping it around the novice's feet.

“What are you doing?” the novice asked in surprise.

Master Foo replied simply: “Tying your shoes.”

Upon hearing this, the novice was enlightened.
