Hello,

Some time ago I noticed an exclude/whitelist filter for Gmail. I use Firefox beta on Windows and Android with uBlock Origin's latest prerelease versions.

In uBO's logger, I noticed this filter:

Code: Select all

@@||mail.google.com^*&view=ad&$xmlhttprequest
I know that exclusions are sometimes needed, but I decided to try without it.
I have not had any trouble with Gmail in either desktop or mobile browser, so I have added a personal static filter to uBO:

Code: Select all

@@||mail.google.com^*&view=ad&$xmlhttprequest,badfilter
I understand that others may use more or different features of Gmail, so I am simply asking if there is a specific/known reason for this exclusion.

I reported this once before, with no replies.
I'm trying again with a more descriptive subject.

This filter has been in Easylist for over a year: @@||mail.google.com^*&view=ad&$xmlhttprequest

I use Firefox Desktop and Android versions with the latest uBlock Origin beta, and occasionally hazard using Chrome (Desktop only).

For at least a year, I have disabled the above filter with this:

Code: Select all

@@||mail.google.com^*&view=ad&$xmlhttprequest,badfilter
I cannot find any reason for this exception filter.

Please explain if I've missed something, or should this be removed?

Thank you.
