Recently, AdBlock has started force-closing tabs of the Book Depository (www.bookdepository.com) when the link contains an affiliate ID. For instance, if a webpage/Twitter/Facebook post contains the URL
Code: Select all
https://www.bookdepository.com/Complete-Life-Times-Uncle-Scrooge-1-Don-Rosa/9781683961741
However, if the website is a Book Depository affiliate and uses the affiliate link (which would be in this case)
Code: Select all
https://www.bookdepository.com/Complete-Life-Times-Uncle-Scrooge-1-Don-Rosa/9781683961741/?a_aid=AffiliateID
I guess this is a bug since it worked correctly in the past and affiliate IDs are not ads, but just make sure the affiliate gets paid their commission. Also, people who click on the link do so actively by their own choice, so it doesn't make sense to force-close the tab since it will only lead to confusion and them thinking the link doesn't work. (Additionally, affiliate IDs from other affiliate programs, like Amazon's, don't cause any problems.)
Could anyone please look into this?
