Using Firefox 60.0.2 (Windows 10, build 1803) I now find that the BBC Radio Player will only work in Firefox if I disable uBlock Origin. No problem with either Palemoon or MS Edge. This is something that is fairly recent but I cannot specify exactly when as I have been using Palemoon mostly in recent months.

Just remembered that my comment applies to live streaming radio but not catchup which works fine.
