Amazon Associates Link

Post by Laura »

Hello,

I noticed yesterday that Adblock blocks now the CSS settings of the Amazon Associates Link Builder on my website. When I deactivate Adblock, it works fine. A few days ago everything worked fine.

Edit: Today I notice that the whole Plugin is blocked through Adblock, when I'm using the standard templates of the Amazon Plugin.

For example: Here is one of my sites http://aspi.lau-rammstein.de/rammstein-mutter-single/

Thanks!
Laura

The Amazon Associates Plugin, which is an integral part of the content of our websites, due to the ease of the link building through it. Has been blocked recently in your latest updates.
This has removed all plugin functionality both from the backend of the wordpress as well as the live content on our websites which tends to spread among hundreds of pages.

The only solution to which so far has been to disable adblockers using your listing.

Here's the relevant details.

EasyList has added all the CSS & JS of the plugin into their blocking list in this week.

In order to make you wesbite work with Adblocker, you can request Ad-Blocker to remove from their filtering list

Code: Select all

aalb-pa-ad-unit
amazon-associates-link-
ProductAd

Hello,

Adblock sill blocks the Amazon Plugin. It also blocks the plugin in the Back-End Editor of Wordpress.

Thanks!

Hello,

thanks for the fix for ublock origin.

But I don't know how I can show you it in the Back-End. I could give you my login for Wordpress, if this helps.

Anyway I made some screenshots:

This is how it normally looks like
https://i.imgur.com/YDYIzki.png

When I click on search it opens this window
https://i.imgur.com/8jaJTrD.png

But with Adblock activated it shows the search field like this and when I click on search no window opens
https://i.imgur.com/3Ft3jev.png

I tested it with ublock origin and it works with that but not with Adblock Plus or AdBlock.

Thanks!
Laura

EDIT: I looked at the developer tools and the /amazon-associates-link- is blocked in the Back-End too. Sorry for not knowing! :?

adblock or adblock plus ? browser ?

You could check your logger (in your adblocker) and see (post here) what filters are triggered when you test your editor.

(when you'll have 5 posts you will be able to pm me your credentials)

Guys, please look into this as this is causing great trouble on many of our websites which span over hundreds of pages.
The only option to display our content correctly, unfortunately, is to prompt users to disable their ad blockers before viewing our pages, but that's not the best solution.

Please look into this and let me know if you need any other detail from me.

read again:
viewtopic.php?p=137304#p137304

You have to provide all the steps to reproduce the issue / issues, provide also test credentials, real pages for test etc

On the other hand, the easylist authors should see this thread and decide what to do
