Just noticed this today but I can't click the little arrow on the right of a twitch sub button to get payment options it is something in the Fanboy's Annoyance list, cause disabling that filter fixes the issue

It is a subscribers button at the top right above the video player https://www.twitch.tv/monotonetim there is a channel that has a sub button. You need to be logged into twitch to be able to open the sub button. It is 100% something in Fanboy's Annoyance List but I don't know what expression is the causing it, but it IS in that list somewhere

I use getadblock for Chrome, is there a way I can disable parts of the fanboy list to figure it out on my end?

I've noticed this since the past month, but I haven't reported it until I saw this topic. I'm sure everyone else has this problem as well, but probably won't report it. I'm using Chrome if that helps.

I couldn't figure out what the problem was, but now that the OP mentioned about the Fanboy's Annoyance List being disabled, I figured out what the problem was. It is being caused by the twitch.tv##.balloon filter in Fanboy's Annoyance List.

Fanboy's Annoyance List (enabled): http://i.imgur.com/ovhyMFB.png - Purple "Subscribe" button has been clicked, but no tooltip is being displayed. There's also no tooltips in the chat for: Subscriber Badge, Prime Badge, Bits Icon, Emote Icon, & Moderator Icon

Fanboy's Annoyance List (disabled) with twitch.tv##.balloon added to "Add your own filters" tab in "ABP Options": http://i.imgur.com/vYhvNRz.png - Purple "Subscribe" button has been clicked, but no tooltip is being displayed. There's also no tooltips in the chat for: Subscriber Badge, Prime Badge, Bits Icon, Emote Icon, & Moderator Icon

Fanboy's Annoyance List (disabled): http://i.imgur.com/hnx3ACI.png - Purple "Subscribe" button has been clicked & the tooltip is correctly being shown. Subscriber Badge tooltip in the chat is correctly being shown.

Fanboy's Annoynce List (disabled): http://i.imgur.com/v2n2NVY.png - Purple "Subscribe" button has been clicked & the tooltip is correctly being shown. Emote Icon tooltip in the chat is correctly being shown.

I inspected each element in Chrome and each tooltip had the word "balloon" in it. (I'm not entirely sure if that's the correct element for the Purple "Subscribe" button below, but feel free to inspect it on any channel)

Purple "Subscribe" button: <div class="balloon-wrapper js-subscribe-button-dynamic">
Subscriber Badge tooltip in chat: <div class="balloon balloon--tooltip balloon--up">3-Month Subscriber</div>
Emote Icon tooltip in chat: <div class="balloon balloon--tooltip balloon--up balloon--center mg-t-1">Emotes Tooltip Example</div>

This happens with every channel on the site, not just the one the OP mentioned.

Thank you so much, it's fixed! It looks like this happened 9 days ago according to the github log. There's 1 more problem. twitch.tv##.js-bits-tooltip-wrapper blocks the "bits" tooltip and I think that's the only way you can "use" bits. I don't use "bits", but I'm sure other people do. You can only view this while you're logged in.

Example channel with bits: https://www.twitch.tv/streamerhouse

Fanboy's Annoyance List (enabled): http://i.imgur.com/XqzFYfq.png - Bits icon in the "Send a message" textbox turned purple while clicked on, but no tooltip is displayed.
Fanboy's Annoyance List (disabled): http://i.imgur.com/0BrFFZK.png & http://i.imgur.com/vQM3Q2Z.png - Bits icon in the "Send a message" textbox turned purple while clicked on and it correctly shows the tooltip.

Twitch made a new layout today and the side bar on the left side is being blocked by the filter ##.social-column on https://www.twitch.tv/directory. I can't see who I'm following, which is supposed to appear on the left side of the page.

Fanboy's Annoyance List (enabled): http://i.imgur.com/eTgyfqL.png
Fanboy's Annoyance List (disabled): http://i.imgur.com/BpHJUtY.png

Element that triggers the ##.social-column filter: <div class="social-column js-social-column flex flex--column">

I think you have larger issues if you're getting that error, and its not related to Easylist

What is the purpose of the following filter found in EasyList?

Code: Select all

|blob:$domain=...|twitch.tv|...
I don't see it being hit with FF/ABP as far as "Open blockable items" discloses, and Chrome extensions API does not support blocking blob: URIs.

However uBO 1.12.5 beta can block blob: URIs, and as a consequence the above filter currently breaks video playback on twitch.tv with a Chromium-based browser.

I was able to play the video in both Chrome/FF in ABP without issue?

Of course, since ABP is not able to enforce that filter. If it was able, you would have issue. Hence my question, what is the purpose of that filter if it's not enforced by ABP? I ask, why is this filter needed?

When a streamer initiate an ad after a game a blob url plays amazone ads

Example of an ad blob url:

Code: Select all

blob:https://www.twitch.tv/9264c470-775a-430a-8b8d-6b5e777c8622
--> https://pastebin.com/KCsgQQU5

Are we not able to block blobs served from a domain ?

Regards

These blob URLs are created through window.createObjectURL(), and the caller needs to supply the data of the object at creation time. This data comes from somewhere, I suspect possibly obtained from wss://pubsub-edge.twitch.tv/v1. Blocking blob: through a CSP header breaks playback on my side, blocking the source of the data would be a better approach -- it's pulled from somewhere.
