Update EasyList. It's already corrected.

Just an FYI, but Firefox with the latest update to easylist doesn't fix this at all.

It still stops the page from loading asking you to disable adblock.

How about:

Code: Select all

||cityam.com/assets/js/PbCode.min.js?

That didn't work on its own, so I randomly added */ads/* to the filter and now it works perfectly?

I don't however know which entry */ads/* is blocking that fixes the page. Can you help?

Also, is there any way for the solution to be added to easylist so we can all benefit? :D

Weird, I need the exact opposite: I need to allow this elements to be loaded to avoid the Anti Adblock system:

Code: Select all

http://cdn1.rezonence.com/Ads/PAAB/CityAM/001/LdCDN1.js?
http://cdn2.rezonence.com/Ads/PAAB/CityAM/001/LdCDN2.js?
Please can you tell what browser and adblocker are you using?

Just an FYI, but the cat and mouse game continues as this website has updated its anti-adblock code.

Any idea how to block their adblock detection once again and push it to easylist so everyone can benefit?

Thanks! :D

The website didn't work for me, even with updated filter list. However, I added the following filter:

Code: Select all

||cityam.com/assets/js/^1.11.1.min.js
This one seems to be working for now. The only thing is that a few articles on the main page have some more blank space in between.
(I'm using uBlock Origin on Firefox.)

try (could break some functionality)

Code: Select all

or (in adblock plus)

Code: Select all

That's even better intense :D

I have added it to my custom filters, but would love it to be pushed to easylist so we can all benefit

I think the owners of cityam.com are monitoring this forum.

The anti-adblock is back for me.

Any idea's how to circumvent this new block?

That doesn't work for me unfortunately.

I click on an article, and those stupid arrows come up detecting adblock and blocking the content, and then it kicks me back to the homepage.

If I use the back button it will take me back to the article and display the full content, then after a few seconds it will kick me back to the homepage again.

This website is clearly very determined to keep out adblock users :-(

I have the following lists installed:-

Adblock warning removal list
Easylist
Malware Domains
EasyPrivacy
Peter Lowe's List
Adware Filters
Fanboys Annoyance List
Spam404

I have just done as you said and updated them all, and when I go to an article on cityam.com the adblock detection still loads, but if I wait for it to load and refresh the page the full article then loads ok?

Is there a way to get the full article without having to reload the page?

Many thanks for your help!

Very suboptimal solution you got there but you have to work with what you got and ABP is just not good enough anymore to fight the tricks of the advertising industry. You could at least hide the banner at the bottom of the page:

Code: Select all

Thanks for the suggestion but Wladimir already knows about stuff that needs to be implemented. Like inline script tag filtering which he refuses to implement since websites would just find other ways to circumvent ABP. So his argument is "Why even try?". Then there's also the issue with the popunders on sites like Pornhub. There's already an issue open (I believe it's over a year old by now) but it's not getting fixed. In my opinion they don't even care anymore and just make it rain with the acceptable ads money. I don't have any other explanation why they stopped bothering with the development. It's absolutely possible like Gorhill is showing us so it must be that Eyeo simply doesn't want to do it.

Found the popunder issue: https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic ... ub#p121747
uBlock Origin can block it so why not ABP?
I know there's a (kind of) solution provided by mapx which is editing Local Storage but that's just way to complicated and basically useless since you have to make the popunder appear (which defeats the purpose of what we're trying to do), never delete Local Storage and not use incognito mode which 99% of people would not want.

I think you don't understand what I said. I know acceptable ads can be disabled and there are still minor changes being made to ABP but what I said was that Eyeo is just cashing in instead of implementing needed features like popunder blocking.
