Problems with Slideshows, EasyPrivacy List

Post by Ian0nline »

Hi, I reported a problem with Slideshows not working with AdBlock enabled, Adblock Support narrowed it down to EasyPrivacy.
Ill just paste the support ticket I sent to Adblock and hopefully someone can see the issue and hopefully post a fix for me if possible.

Can you provide detailed steps on how to reproduce the problem?

What should happen when you do the above steps
Clicking next to go to the next slide, nothing happens, EasyPivacy breaks navigating these slideshows

What actually happened?
The links to the next slide break

Do you have any other comments? If you can, can you please attach a screenshot of the bug?

This also happens with these slideshows on Macworld.com, Same type of slideshow, does not work with Adblock enabled. Out of curiosity, what type of element are these slideshows, Flash, Java? I don't know much about this stuff. TYVM

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I'm sorry, but can you give me instructions on what to do with this code?
I'm new here, I'm using Adblock ATM, not Adblock Plus. But instructions for both would be very helpful.
Thanks, Very much appreciated :D

I use ABP, so I suppose you are talking about chrome

for ABP, click ABP icon, options, "add your own filters" tab, add the filter

Hi, Thanks so much for helping me out. :)
FYI Im using regular Adblock and Safari on OS X.
Regardless you're solution worked for me!
Can't thank you enough for the help, that problem was really bugging me.

Now I'm probably asking in the wrong place or even site but...
I have experimented with adblocking via the hosts file.
I have used the mvps list with my hosts file mainly to block video ads in Safari because of Safari's limitations to block them.
All in all the list is overkill for me, I just want to block video ads, is there a section in that mvps list that is only for video ads I can use?
Maybe I could use just a few of the filters in my host file to block them.

No worries if you have no idea, I know Im not in the right place to ask, just wondering since you guys seem to know a lot about this stuff.

Thanks Again for this fix, very much appreciated
