yep that page on files is cluttered up with alot of stuff not needed, i love filetube, but all this slows down it and makes it really messy.

*shrug* Its just a list, Easylist can't cover everything out there, some list's will be more specialised and target certain type of sites.. I just filled a gap that was requested by another user. Its the beauty of the subscription model in Adblock Plus, add/remove what you need in a click.

snake, even if for some reason you do not wish to subscribe to fanboy's list, you could add the relevant rules specific to filestube.com to your own ad blocking rules (credit to fanboy for these as they are directly from his P2P list).

Code: Select all

filestube.com##*.results > DIV.other_adv
filestube.com##DIV.resultadv
filestube.com##A.remads
filestube.com##DIV[class^="prem_"]
filestube.com##P.err404
filestube.com##DIV#dfr_outer
filestube.com##*.dotter + DIV.file_details_title
filestube.com##DIV[style="width: 750px; height: 100px;"]
filestube.com##A[href^="http://www.filestube.com/sponsored_go."]
However, the reason you do not wish to subscribe completely baffles me; the subscription will not only automatically update, but it will also block other adverts on sites of a similar nature.

As Fanboy said EasyList can not (and does not) cover everything.

I'm pretty sure that Easylist tries to steer clear of adding rules specifically for P2P sites (and also adult sites).

If I am correct (waiting for Ares2 to clear this up) it looks to me like your options are:

A) Ignore the ads
B) Add your own rules
C) Copy Fanboy's rules (although if you do this you may as well subscribe to his list !!)
D) Subscribe to his list

I choose "D"

I don't know how to handle this yet, added to EasyList for now, deciding later.

Yes, if I decide to get rid of those filters, I want to have them all in one place. ;-) But I'm not sure yet if I shouldn't make my own p2p list or keep those things in EasyList and EasyList Germany.

else you could just contribute to an existing p2p list..

Problem is that I have many filters for German P2P sites in EasyList Germany and those sites needed (and still need) some special treatment (MonztA will agree ;-) ). I will renew those soon as part of renewing EasyList Germany and I have the feeling that it would be more work to contribute to your list than to maintain it myself.

And your list is very new too, so the "existing" argument isn't a very good one.

When I say contribute, basically if you get a submission or find an ad yourself.. I'll review it (as with any submission), then add it or whatever is required..Really in the same way Rick came across Adult strings, he just prodded myself.

New list sure, existing, and has existed for a few months now, doubling up on "p2p" lists seems tedious and unnecessary. I have a reasonable base currently, might require a bit of work to keep up to date..those p2p sites do change often. And the p2p filter isn't strictly a english-based filter list, if you look through it.. there is a few non-english domains listed.

In the end we're after the same goals, less adverts on p2p sites.

It makes sense to me for everyone to pool their efforts into a multi-lingual p2p list. Those (and adult sites) are generally ones where language is not a barrier :)

It could then used used as a complimentary subscription for any list.

I would be interested in how the other subscription authors feel about adding rules for torrent sites and the idea of one communal list.
