Code: Select all
https://cooking.nytimes.com/guides/23-basic-knife-skills
Subscription blocker pops up and prevents scrolling on the page.
I'm using Adblock Plus, if that's relevant or if anyone has a custom filter to try.
I saw this thread already.
But turning Java off disables all the video content on the page, so kind of defeats the purpose.
Thanks!

@excs
I did not understand your issue!
Can you explain better and give an example.

They have some sort of content blocker after you read 5 articles. They block it via IP so clearing cookies and cache won't bypass the limit. Anyhow, it seems like the articles load fully but then the content blocker appears.
Is there a possible fix?

The site for the last few months has been gradually introducing a new style on certain pages. These pages intersperse ads throughout the article which use "#story-ad-1-wrapper," "#story-ad-2-wrapper," etc. Those are already in Easylist, but some articles, like this one, go beyond ad-2, so those ads aren't hidden.

The most I've seen are 9 or 10. Short of continuing to add them (ad-3, 4, 5, etc), is there maybe an alternative method? There's no wildcards in CSS, but maybe something else?

Thanks, I forgot about that method. Looks like it's doing the job, so maybe it should be swapped in for #story-ad-1-wrapper and #story-ad-2-wrapper?
