https://www.merriam-webster.com/
http://www.investopedia.com/

this rule: http://pastebin.com/raw/NacPMLiU

and this rule:

Code: Select all

@@||googlesyndication.com/safeframe/$subdocument,domain=investopedia.com|merriam-webster.com

I think you're looking in the wrong place. tbh none of these whitelists are currently in use anyways.

As a test, try Firefox + ABP.

If you will refresh several times, sometime you will get non adsense ads, and sometimes you will git those as they will slipped right through adblock.

the fact that it is blocking the ads in Firefox is enough? good to know that.
yes the ads are hidden in Firefox, not in chrome. (they are quite there... just hidden).

No, you made a statement that these whitelists ^ were the cause of your issues. Which they wern't.

If you're going to debug, atleast test in browsers and/or extensions.

Code: Select all

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/postmodern
Annoyance: After a few seconds a slider for a random article appears. Somewhat distracting if you were in the middle of reading.

Code: Select all

Maybe they are Geo targeted or something I don't know, have you tried only with Easylist? I keep getting those ads, what can I do to help you here?

I cannot reproduce the issue. Did you add some custom filter in your adblocker for this site ?

adblocker version ?
browser version ?
filter lists ?

other sites where you get same behaviour ?

I'm at the end of my rope with this. I currently work for a public school that has over 1000 Manage Chromebooks. Every time a student goes to
https://www.merriam-webster.com/ the site is blocked even though Adblock is disabled. Our district Firewall also has the site Whitelisted.

No matter what I do I receive the error below to come here... Any suggestions on what I could try next?

This could be a temporary problem with your network, or due to your adblocker

Try:
Check your internet connection and reload the page
If you are using an adblocker disable it by clicking on the adblock icon in your browser toolbar
If the problem persists, consider leaving a message on the adblock user forums

martydias I can reproduce ONLY IF i block this url https://www.adiode.com/http which is not blocked by easylist.
Any suggestions on what I could try next?
Try installing Tampermonkey + the userscript AAK-Cont viewtopic.php?p=129238#p129238
or use uBo as adblocker and give a feedback if it is working for you.
