Hi. Those filters are no longer working in Chrome or Edge with either AdBlock or ABP (latest versions of all; cache and cookies clean). There are both ads in the sidebar and in a pop-up that appears a few seconds after the page loads.

Example: http://www.itechpost.com/articles/39270/20161011/pangu-raising-white-flag-ios-10-jailbreak-happening.htm

Screenshot of the pop-up with ABP in Edge:

Screenshot of the sidebar ads with AdBlock in Chrome (same ads are at the bottom of the page):

1. install the last dev build of ABP: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock-plus-development/ldcecbkkoecffmfljeihcmifjjdoepkn
add this filter

Code: Select all

*$websocket,domain=itechpost.com
or
2. add

Code: Select all

You mean on our part? We're looking to add anti-websocket stuff in an upcoming release of AB for Edge, no ETA yet. Or do you mean in the wider world?

@intense, thanks! The last two filters are doing the trick in Chrome. Looks like all three are needed in Edge (with $elemhide).

Yeah, APB has developed a patch (just in beta atm) to get block websocket-ads, so avoiding this need to whitelist and generichide these type of sites. At somestage it'd be nice to remove our older adreclaim filters in filterlist and use:

Code: Select all

$websocket,domain=...|...|...
Sooner Adblock for Chrome stops the websocket-ads the better :)
