Unblocked Google Ad

Post by Gnintendo »

I'm way too busy to investigate filter suggestions right now, but I found some Google ads that weren't blocked.

Scroll down on this page:

I'm not getting anymore now either, they were there earlier, my filters are all the same version (latest) as when I was seeing them earlier.

I use EasyList, EasyElement, and Tracking Filter.

IDK, just keep checking the link periodically, the ads have to show up again eventually :? .

EDIT: Got the ads again right after this; sometimes you have to refresh the page a lot before you see the ads.

The only thing I saw was the header 'Ads by Google', the actual ads were already blocked by google.com,google.[...]#div(id^=tpa)

Hmm, like I said, I had to refresh a lot, just now over 20 times before I saw.

Either way something needs to be added.

Got it now. More reliable example here.

Code: Select all

google.com#div(id^=tba)

That blocked the ads for me but I'm still seeing an "Ads by Google" at the top and bottom.

Try:

Code: Select all

google.com##body >div + table[style="border: 1px solid rgb(51, 102, 153);"]
I'm not sure whether this will give you any other problems on other google pages or not.

That's removing the ads by Google at the top but not the bottom. (and you still need the other filter Ares2 suggested to block the actual ads)

I have removed only what I think is necessary. I can't waste filtering on EVERY leftover box for smaller sites. The additional tweaks are listed in this post for reference.
