YOUTUBE ADS ARE BACK

Post by ItsMeexD »

Youtube ads are back. The 30 second must watch preview, the skippable and unskippable ones, and banners on the bottom of the video.
Actually quite a surprise for me to see them for the first time in a while...

Thank you as usual Adblock team!

Again, watching from England and ads come up.

Tried to update filters and refresh - then they disappear, but when I load another video - ads are back again.

screen just in case

Are you all using Chrome together with AdBlock? What if you try Adblock Plus instead?

If you use Firefox, please do the following: submit an issue report via Adblock Plus and post the link of the report here.

FROM AUSTRALIA

ADS COMING UP ON YOUTUBE!!

PATCH UPDATE REQUIRED!

youtube has obviously found out about these "ad blockers" and is now cracking down on them, so you'll have to somehow re-do your app!

I can confirm that this bug is more than hot air or obvious user mistakes, but current reports' ubiquitous use of Chrome might suggest that this is a problem with Adblock Plus for Chrome and not EasyList.

I am using Adblock Plus 1.5.3 for Chromium 29.0.1547.32 with EasyList and EasyPrivacy enabled and non-intrusive advertising disabled. My lists were updated the morning of August 1st CST. Upon normal logged-in browsing of Youtube from the United States, I inconsistently (no immediately apparent pattern) get the short ads before and after Youtube videos in addition to an advertised video link at the top of the right column of videos. My most recent personal occurrence of this issue was this morning. I have been occasionally getting this behavior for well over a week now, although I cannot pin down an exact date. Due to being unable to reliably reproduce the bug, I cannot show you a screenshot of the offending behavior, but I believe you understand the issue. In my very brief investigations of the issue when it occurs, I have noted that normal ad blocking behavior still works correctly when I open a new tab to test it with other websites, but clicking videos along the sidebar of the ad-ridden video will cause ads to be displayed there as well.

I apologize if I cannot provide more useful information for the time being, but it is clear to me that there is a real issue somewhere.

Not me though but "Ad not from this page" shows up and is unblockable.
