Firefox 2 versus Internet Explorer 7

Post by The Masked Marauder »

CNET has posted a showdown between Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7. Firefox won all 5 rounds (no surprise there). Check it out:

Summary: One small step for Firefox, one giant leap for IE, but Firefox still rules.

That's accurate in my book. IE had the biggest leap to make though. Nothing Firefox could have done to make it look like it improved as much as IE has because IE was so dang far behind. But I'm hoping this pushes Firefox to improve things even more now. We all win with competition.

Somebody had to light a fire under Microsoft to make them to update Internet Explorer (pun intended). This update was long overdue. IE7 has some nice improvements, but not enough to become my browser of choice.

You just can't touch the 'modular' structure of Firefox with all of its extensions. :)

I agree Rick. One could say, "It's the extensions (add-ons) stupid" to IE and Opera. I keep saying this, but folks under estimate the power of having many extensions/add-ons.
