Did you ever wish you had your trusty, familiar Firefox browser with you when you are away from home? Try Portable Firefox.

Portable Firefox is the perfect thing to put on a usb memory key and carry with you. You can use it on ANY pc ... just plug it in and start it up. It needs no installation. Imagine having your homepage and all of your bookmarks handy no matter where you go. And the best part is that most all of your themes, extensions, and plug-ins will work on it. I have about a dozen extensions and a couple of themes installed ... they ALL work! I can't live without Adblock, Mouse Gestures, Tab Mix, etc. You cannot tell the difference between the portable version and my installed version ... they look and work identical! The total size with my configuaration with all of my add-ons is 25 meg.

If you use other pcs often, this is a must! Get it here:

I have this, I like it!
The only thing I find is, there should be a way to synch it with my regular FF installation so all my bookmarks are the same.
Apart from that, it's great!!

Just copy the "bookmarks.htm" from your firefox profile to your portable profile ... that's how I did it.

@ jr!
Sorry man, I totally botched your post somehow.

jr! originally said:

"yeah, me too, but I'm always forgetting to do that."

to which I replied:

"I know .... just because you brought that up, I'm doing that right now.
I've also added a few bookmarks since the last time."

I started a new job where I'm using the web ALOT, gave this a bash and I must say its fantastic, on a 2.0 USB stick with all the optimisations recommended (turning of cache etc) it is brilliant, virtually no different to an installed version. Soooooooo good to have my bookmarks and also adblockplus running on my browser again. The SwithcProxy ( https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/125/ ) extension mentioned on the Portable Firefox instructions page as well is invaluable.

Highly recommended people!

Yes. Portable Firefox is a way I can also have all of my handy extensions active when not at home as ALL of them work. :)

I've been thinking about loading Thunderbird Portable too so I cansend/get mail thru my pop account anywhere ... along with having my address book.

Okay, then another question: is it automatically updated & kept in sync with the latest Firefox version?
