This is an interesting script, but the check to confirm that the file size has changed after the removal of the checksum appears to assume that there is already a checksum present, something which is incorrect in many subscription repositories, including EasyList.

I updated the script to work even in the case of no checksums entries available to replace!!!!!!!!!!!!
