Whitelisting opt out advertising

Post by cros13 »

I think it's worth discussing whitelisting well-known aggregated opt out sites like
http://www.youronlinechoices.com and http://optout.aboutads.info

This would allow people who wish to do so to get behavioural advertising opt-out cookies without the lists interfering with the process.

behavioural advertising with opt out is not only morally wrong (imo) but also illegal in many countries as it's not even gdpr-compliant. being opt-out has to be the default, so there is no point for cookies there. Only after consent is given and the user chooses to opt-in does it make sense to set opt-in cookies.
