Wladimir Palant (one of the original developer's of ABP and founders of Eyeo) just announced that he will be taking a complete break from the development of Adblock Plus for the next year or so. He mentions other projects he'll be focusing on for the time like his Easy Passwords extension.

This seems mainly due to ABP moving to the new Web Extensions framework of Firefox. He mentions not liking this new framework and cites that his Firefox skills aren't required for the development of ABP anymore.

Though he doesn't mention how engaged he will be with Eyeo's activities.

True. He was the one who took the Adblock project in the correct direction after the original was all but abandoned. He directed the EasyList in the right way too.

Hope he's still connected to the project in other ways.
