If you're running uBlock Origin or Adblock Plus, then it won't work for you, as the extension will block the ads for you before Chrome gets the chance to do it.
I assume those who run a mobile version of Chrome can take advantage of this though.

As long as they're not running any APP that does the same job.

Today Chrome updated to 65.0.3325.146 and now I have the adblocker built-in.
