Facebook earned a total of $700 million in the past four quarters by forcing ads on adblock users. Even though desktop usage and revenue fell for Facebook ad revenue from desktop adblock users increased each quarter.
It is clear seeing this Facebook is going to continue the cat and mouse game. Though I am not sure who is winning right now.
