That could be it as the one I was thinking of was about traffic reports.fanboy wrote:nzherald.co.nz had a traffic report that hit /traffic/? (though it doesn't now), I changed my filter to .com/traffic/? which seems to work well and hasn't caused any false postives.

Not at all, your fine Hubird. Fact everything is kewl on my end. I just wanted to make my point of view clear for all parties. No offense was taken here and non was intended from here. Far as I'm concerned it's all good.

Re: EasyList UserContent.css
Considering there isn't an easylist "usercontent.css", Hubird was offering an legitimate alternative, I see absolutely nothing wrong with his post. I never said there was, and made that clear in my post. I just wanted the OP to know that it wasn't the filterset they ask about that was bei...

Hmm, ok that makes sense. I believe you, but unsure if I should delete or let one of the admins or other mods do it. If someone does decided to delete this please PM me so I know what to do in future. Thanks. And thanks Alan for info and patients with me on this. I should already have known that, bu...

Re: massively.com
I'm no expert, but I think I vaguely remember years ago some similar filter caused all kinds of FPs. I hope I'm wrong but you might want to do a forum search here to see. I'm sorry I haven't done it, but right now I'm kind of sort on time and searches are not my best area it takes me forever to find...

Re: EasyList UserContent.css
No offense Hubird, but you didn't make it clear. The above post and links are not the easylist filterset, but Fanboy's filterset. There is nothing wrong with Fanboy's list I just wanted to make it more clear.

I would at least recommend a way (filter) for people to add it to their own filterset, because I can see it getting annoying.

It seems to block them for me. But it does leave an empty white area, but I'm not sure it can be fixed.

I don't know if it's still true or not, but Easylist uses filter options that only works with ABP. Using it with 'Safari Block' may be your problem.

Re: Neowin & IGN
I'm not sure if we are talking past each other. The image with the educational message is always loaded no matter what. They just place the ad *above* the image so it's invisible to people who don't use ad blockers. I just thought it was silly that they add additional load to their servers for some...

Erunno, you mean they load an image from the server and then cover it up while their servers are having trouble with the load as it is? Interesting!

I'm not seeing them here, maybe do a manual update of filters and see if something new in Easylist has been added that fixes this now.

@Michael, yea I understand that. First time I visited that site, just for that reason it wasn't in English. It is now in English so I guess it falls into this category. Sorry, I don't know why it wasn't in English the first time for me.

Re: Suggestions in the Suggestions forum
There is also the talk about sites that the filers discussed were NOT added to the easylist and therefor the only place to see them would be in the forums. There are many that are not added because of to many FP's but are in the forums for people to use if they see fit. Just a thought.

Re: Element's List of generic false-positive ads/banners
Yea, we are not trying to shoot down your filters, it's just they have been tried so many times in different ways and they always cause problems (FP's). You could add them personally and you might get away with it, but for a public release there will be issues.
