Re: cosplay.com sponsored area
You're right on. Firefox 3.6.24 OK, then FYI: Firefox 3 and below did perform some internal modifications to "style=" strings, but you should still be able to get a working rule for your version by using the Element Hiding Helper . Oh, and a FYI2: We (EasyList) aren't adding Firefox 3.6 c...

Re: Wikipedia Stories [Rej]
@MonztA: I think the last paragraph could be a little less text and a little more instruction to avoid confusion, e.g. If you want to block the Wikimedia fundraising notice, just add the following rule to your "Custom filters" in Adblock Plus: /w/index.php?*^bannercontroller^ People who wa...

Re: Forum Policy
When did this happen? I can't find anything like that in last weeks logs and currently no IPs are manually blocked as far as I can see, maybe an automatic anti-spam measure is to blame? Regarding policy in general: I personally would always delete posts that do nothing but advertise a paid product -...

EasyPrivacy already uses

Re: filepost.com (popup)
The comment was just for me to remember where the popup occurs. The filter I added blocks ALL third-party popups on filepost.com (in contrast to the other added rule that will just block the noowmedia ad). I think blocking all popups on a filehoster is a good idea as they are very likely to change t...

I'm too lazy to look it up for you now, but I think 17 should move to Beta very soon (from then I think it's 5-6 weeks to stable, but I stand corrected). Adblock Plus will probably be updated even before it is released.

On the page you linked, I get a "video not found" which wouldn't be an EasyList or Adblock Plus issue (the video file has simply been removed).

Re: channel4.com video adverts
I didn't do anything. Are you saying that the ads are blocked on Firefox? If yes, the reason that they aren't blocked in Chrome is because the current release versions of Adblock Plus and/or Chrome doesn't support blocking video ads yet. You can wait (I think starting with Chrome 17, it will work) O...

Can you please create an Adblock Plus issue report (once the ad started playing) and the post the link here? You do that by clicking on the red 'ABP' icon in Firefox and selecting "Report issue on this page".

Both are clearly Slovenian adservers and the example site is Slovenian as well, so they won't be added to EasyList (as per our policy).

Re: Product-comparison and deals widgets
Would it make any difference if the user could interact with the widget to compare products without leaving the original site? Then there's no ad-like click-to-visit. All the content and features are right there. I think the best we can do is to decide that on a case-by-case, widget-by-widget basis...

Re: twitter.com better Promoted Tweet blocking
That sounds like a quite risky filter to me to be honest, it should at least have some other identifier (and a tag or class for performance).
A bit better could be something along the lines of what was suggested here (unverified): https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8666

I would say they are equivalent in terms of being safe and when it comes to what they cover. Performance isn't an issue with site-specific rules either, so I would prefer 1 rule over two:
