Whoops. Well, in that case perhaps provide a link to the specific addons.mozilla.org URL where Adblock Plus can be downloaded?

Re: ABP filter docs: XMLHttpRequest [fixed]

When you "fixed" the filter, you mistakenly typed two dollar signs into it ( @@.rte.ie/ads/video/ads-config.js?$$xmlhttprequest ). This is somehow causing the filter to not work.

ABP filter docs: XMLHttpRequest [fixed]

The "Writing Adblock Plus filters" documentation page ( http://adblockplus.org/en/filters ) says that the parameter used to restrict a filter to XmlHttpRequests is $xmlhttprequest, but in the thread about "RTE.ie Video Player" ( http://forums.lanik.us/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=282...

Re: battleon.com

I apologize that one of the more experienced users has not attended to this topic earlier. Anyway, I will say the following: I think you probably have a good case for getting those filters removed, as rick752 generally has a policy of not blocking ads for "first-party" products/services. H...

Re: Google referer amok

@rick752 and other experts: Could this potentially be fixed by adding $third-party to the filter? (I'm not very familiar with how this tracking string is used; I'm just trying to make sure this issue gets due attention. I am not the same person as the guest above.)

Re: EasyList & EasyElement subscriptions now combined.

Just one part of the website you might have forgotten about: The "Filters' last-modified info" page ( http://easylist.adblockplus.org/easylist-modified.htm ) still has separate sections for EasyList and EasyElement (which of course display the same content now that the latter redirects to ...

LiveScience.com Top 10s [white]

The "Top 10" features on http://www.livescience.com contain a script "http://i.livescience.com/common/js/hbx.js" which is blocked by the ABP Tracking Filter string "/hbx*.js|$~other,~object-subrequest". The blocking of this script prevents the user from being able to ch...

Flash content on www.oprah.com [white]

http://www.oprah.com contains a script http://static.oprah.com/js/s_code.js which is blocked by the string "/s_code.js|" in the ABP Tracking Filter. The blocking of this script causes the site to wrongly complain that a Flash plugin is not installed (the exact wording that it displays, in ...

Ctrl+Alt+Del - "Advertising" navigation item [user]

The navigation bar on the left-hand side of http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com (or equivalently http://cad-comic.com ) contains an item named "Advertising." This is not itself an advertisement, but rather a link to the page that explains what one needs to do in order to advertise on the site...

Re: htt and http:/ [n/a]

As I mentioned in another thread, this type of corruption can sometimes happen randomly when a filter update is downloaded, and the suggested fix is to force a manual update (Filters -> Update all subscriptions in the Adblock Plus window) as soon as you notice the problem. (I don't mean to be saying...

Re: What's up?? It's suddenly unusable!! [n/a]

Just a quick note that I've had this type of corruption happen to me once due to apparent Internet connection or server glitches during an automatic update of the EasyList. The solution was to force Adblock Plus to "Update all subscriptions." I don't think there are any server problems tha...

Re: gimpusers.com [user]

I'm not sure how necessary/effective the element filters mentioned above are, given that the EasyElement string #div(class=ad) seems to hide the contents of the ads anyway. I have personally whitelisted the site out of the "goodness of my heart," even though what I just said makes the whit...

Re: /banners/*.gif$~background & /banners/banner [discussion]

Since this issue appears to be covered by this thread, I might as well mention it here: (See also post #5 of http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=13721 ) Most of the images at despair.com are blocked by /banners/*.gif$~background. The whitelist string @@images.despair.com/banners/ seems to ...

Is it appropriate to have ChinaList/Corset on the front page

I noticed that the front page of the EasyList website mentions ChinaList and Corset as subscriptions suggested for use with the EasyList. I don't think the lists were designed to be used with EasyList; upon examining ChinaList, I noticed that it has several filter strings for Western ads/elements/tr...

Re: "digg it" links/buttons/counters [discussion]

I don't exactly see how that article about FBI activity relates to the "Digg it" buttons themselves, which I feel shouldn't be blocked. If what that article says is true, wouldn't the proper filter (for the ABP Tracking Filter list) have something to do with the domain "y.digg.com&quo...

MediaWiki pages with "advertisement" in title [fixed]

The EasyElement filter string: #*(class*=advertisement) seems to cause blocking of the body element on pages with the word "advertisement" (in all lowercase) in the title on any MediaWiki-based wiki. An example of the body tag that the MediaWiki engine generates for such a page is: <body c...
