Numbering systems around the world

Recently came upon a fascinating video in which numbering systems across the world are discussed. An interesting watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4bmZ1gRqCc Details: Title: 58 and other Confusing Numbers Channel: Numberphile Description: Tom Scott on numbers and linguistics - a discussion wit...

Re: mail.ru is not accepted for registration

It doesn't as just about anyone can sign up for free VoIP service and get a phone number. Better yet some services such as Yahoo only need your phone number for account recovery. Which means just about anything goes. I see. I thought they didn't allow VoIP numbers, from what I know Google blocks Vo...

Spam from mail.ru? From what I can see they require a phone number to sign up (https://account.mail.ru/signup) like other major online services (Google, Yahoo etc.) which should probably stop spam uses.

They announced this a while back last year. Symantec has already sold off its certification business to Digicert, don't think they'll be rebuilding a new cert infrastructure anytime soon.

Chrome scanning your files - Chrome Cleanup Tool

While looking through Google Chrome's settings I found that there is this "Chrome Cleanup Tool" option there. Well turns out Chrome scans your computer weekly (no user interaction needed though it asks for user permission before removing detected malware) like an antivirus for malware, spyware, adwa...

Ah that fixed it, thanks @okiehsch. Was the default setting switched from a Tab to a Window? I find the Tab to be much more user friendly rather than a full blown Window pop up.

uBlock Logger opening in new window

I am on a new computer and I installed uBO on it after downloading Google Chrome. But for some reason the logger window is opening in a new window instead of a new tab. Any reason why this might be happening? I can't seem to get the logger to open in a tab. SS: https://i.imgur.com/jZm8qLm.png Any id...

Re: Tracking in uBlock (ublock.org)

Interesting. Well looks like someone is trying to capitalize on the uBlock name. Not sure how I feel about this, AdBlock ( getadblock.com ) seems to have been lagging behind in recent times and most of the original team has left (Michael Gundlach, Gabriel Cubbage) not to mention that if ublock.org p...

Disabling a whitelist element filter

Does anyone know if whitelisted element filters (#@#) can be overridden/disabled. For example, I am trying to override these filters in uBlock filters – Unbreak:

Code: Select all

oxforddictionaries.com#@#.banbox
oxforddictionaries.com#@#.banner
Can I override without disabling the whole list?

ROList - Romanian filter list fiasco

The ROList filter list for Romanian websites had been the default on Adblock Plus for quite some years and as such was also added as the default in uBlock Origin . Recently ROList's maintainer Zoso , who is also a popular blogger, was accused of being lenient on ads and letting his own blog's ads th...

Re: Tracking in uBlock (ublock.org)

This blocking is no legitimate and exaggerated. Many others adblockers track their users , for what not add ghostery to the badware list? Now that I think about it Med seems to be right. Indeed uBO is technically a fork of uBlock and there seems to be no particular reason to block its website; gorh...

Now even DENIC has stopped the automated system for checking WHOIS data, you can only get registrant data if you are a the domain holder yourself or a public authority. (https://www.denic.de/webwhois-web20/en Check a domain such as filmportal.de)

Afilias, Neustar, Nominet, and Donuts have all started redacting WHOIS data for their managed TLDs. (This would cover a large number of TLDs.)

Re: Overhauling Changes to WHOIS
