So, when you do that for any article you want, you'll see a new line of information appear. Yes, we get some things we don't want, but certainly something that we do: authorship and the timestamp.

Try disabling cosmetic filtering in uBO: when you do, you'll see the byline that I mentioned (this is the case for any article on the site). It's kind of a tricky situation, since the goal is not to have the social stuff but to still have the author and date show. It may not be possible, but in that...

Fanboy's Annoyance correctly removes social elements in articles but also removes the byline and the datestamp under the article's title. Yes. I'm pretty sure when I posted yesterday I had updated filters, but maybe not. It's unlikely that a change was committed between the time I posted yesterday and when you did, so maybe I didn't, or maybe I was looking at a stale page. In any case, looks good at this point.

We're still in grey-box mode today.

That definitely gets closer, but trying a bunch of different pages on that site I was only able to get the video box once.

This wasn't a problem before (roughly) a few weeks ago, but it seems now with default (updated) filters in uBO (Chrome/Firefox, Win10) that the video box in articles on this site that contain videos is now hidden. It's an enticement to signup, but such articles are not paywalled. You just need to click the "X" to continue.

It turns out that this is caused by one filter undermining another. In my case, it was Fanboy's Problematic websites List (note: already part of the Enhanced trackers, Ultimate and Complete list, so if anyone has one of those, this would apply) countermanding EasyList.
