t-shirts.cafepress.com

Forwarding a report I got by mail:
when you view http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/geeks-technology for example, adblock filters removes a lot of the tshirt images. I was able to view them fine when I disable adblock or whitelist cafepress.

Re: EasyPrivacy: generic blocking of plugin lists

Usually, if the website needs to check plug-ins for anything other than tracking, it is interested in only one of them. The full list of plug-ins is only interesting for tracking users (as an additional distinction criterion) or for statistics.

EasyPrivacy: generic blocking of plugin lists

FYI: http://research.zscaler.com/2009/05/take-my-plugin-data-please.html EasyPrivacy has some generic filters to block requests listing referrer. How about blocking requests listing user's installed plug-ins as well? Something like "*Mozilla%20Default%20Plug-in*" will usually do, this plug...

Got a mail from the webmaster of alaskaslist.com. Here are example pages: http://alaskaslist.com/1/posts/13_Pets/71_Dogs/ http://alaskaslist.com/1/posts/13_Pets/71_Dogs/20931_Adorable_Mini_Dachshund_Puppy_Wants_You_.html These wrongly trigger a bunch of generic element hiding rules: ##*[class^="...

Falsche Regel fuer tutorials.de

Code: Select all

Diese Regel verursacht eine Fehlermeldung: "Selector expected. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector."

Sollte wahrscheinlich heissen:

Ok, I tried clicking "Older version" at it still hangs when opening an email with this request blocked. I guess with "ui=2" it should be fine.

I don't consider forking the list a solution. I am still in the process of discussing the matter with loveleeyoungae and I hope that the efforts of the Vietnamese community will not be slit between two lists.

Re: An unfair Vietnamese filter list

@Ares2: Sorry, I should have been more explicit - I already wrote much in a mail and didn't want to repeat it here. The problem is that bkav.com.vn isn't an advertising domain at all from what it seems. It is the web site of a legitimate anti-virus company - which isn't just being blocked, there is ...

I didn't receive any answer from filter list maintainer. Viet Nam List will no longer be a recommendation in Adblock Plus 1.0.2 - at least until I see that user feedback is taken seriously there.

Re: EasyList whitelists

Btw, how about cleaning out some of these? E.g. "@@.1800flowers.com/*/banners/$domain=1800flowers.com" - changing "/banners/*.gif$third-party" into "/banners/*.gif$third-party,domain=~1800flowers.com" is sufficient now.

Re: An unfair Vietnamese filter list

And of course, as Wladimir advised, you should disable ABP whenever you get to commercial sites. No, I never advised that. Actually, I even implemented $third-party and $domain options to help filter list maintainers deal with the case where something is an advertisement everywhere but on its own d...

Yes, the weatherbug image is apparently being loaded by a frame from weather.weatherbug.com. Meaning that the original filter can be changed into "/728x90/*$domain=~weather.weatherbug.com" without any whitelists.

Google ads in revver.com videos

Here is an example video that a user sent me: http://www.revver.com/video/89072/wanna-work-together/ At the end of the video you are shown some Google ads. These are allowed because the filter for Google ads explicitly states $~object-subrequest. This is with a good reason - if you disallow access t...
