I figured most of it out. I made a filter, to filter out some sort of google thing: ||googleapis.com^ And that made the page hang. I disabled the filter and now it hangs less, albeit it with a few ads. I wonder if the fanboy annoyances filter has anything to do with it? although disabling it doesn't...

I'm having problems on the Toronto Star web page. It loads forever & I have the following filters: Rick752 / Cedric's tracking filer Easy Privacy+ EasyList Fanboy Annoyances And yet the page simply will not fully load properly. I have tried turning various filters off, but it still never finishe...

I noticed those new ads tonight as well & came here looking for a way to get rid of them.

I have the same thing.

I think I have java scripts turned off in firefox or something like that, that was causing the issue. The weird thing is, I only ever had problems on that particular page.

my problems was a script was hanging all the time. No idea why, but for me the brute force approach worked!

It does what I need it to do.
Of course it can be modified.
I don't need a single one of the 14 scripts it blocks.

I've been using the above (*blstj.msn.com/) to block a script that hangs all the time at http://finance.sympatico.msn.ca/

so, this just happened to me again this weekend.
Good thing I remembered my old post here.
But some things are still missing, I wonder what is causing this?

I just recently subscribed to the easy element filter & have noticed especially on the Toronto Star web site (http://www.thestar.com) that the page loads are slowed
considerably to the point where fx hangs for about 5 seconds & then loads.
Am I the only one experiencing this?

it looks like ESPN have changed something, as this video starts up again now.
The above filter doesn't filter it out anymore.
Any ideas?

Nope, I don't backup that often, my last backup was done last Sunday morning.
I guess I could have also used the "export filters" function from abp on my laptop, which has the identical filters as my desktop.

It's in the 'adblockplus' folder in your Firefox profile, jr. But you should be able to just go in to your existing 'adblockplus' folder ... delete the 'patterns.ini' file there ... and rename one of the backups from the EXISTING 'adblockplus' folder (adp makes about 5 of them)s the main to 'patter...

Something wiped out all my adblockplus filters including my easyfilter subscription & everything.
I have my entire firefox profile folder backed up on an external drive, what files do I copy from my backed up profile into the profile I'm currently using to restore all my filters?

apparently there are versions of Linux you can run off a usb drive too!

you can probably get rid of the *rnm.ca filter.
I don't believe the web site that used to use them (sportsnet.ca) uses
them for ads anymore after introducing their new web site.
I haven't had any hits on that filter & I'm at that web site all the time.

I believe it filters something from either espn.soccernet.com or
yahoogroups.
It's something I added myself.
The new adblock is working awesome!!

Now that we have a hit counter in adblock plus, what is giving you guys
the most hits?

I have added the filter: "*starwave" & have 559 hits so far & I only installed the new abp 0.7 around 6 hours ago.

I have this, I like it!
The only thing I find is, there should be a way to synch it with my regular FF installation so all my bookmarks are the same.
Apart from that, it's great!!
