majorgeeks.com
I'm not sure if it's an ad or not, but I have not noticed it before until now. It's the white square with links on the right side column by realmatch.

Looks like an ad to me. It can be blocked with this.
Code: Select all
realmatch.com/Widgets/*
That works.
And also, there are blank "Sponsored Links" boxes left behind after the ads are blocked.
Rick752, will you add the filter to block the Realmatch ad and one to hide the "Sponsored Links" boxes to EasyList?

I added the realmatch one.
But removing other empty elements there really doesn't do anything ... removing that small text in those isn't really worth a couple of strings.

I just noticed there is another ad on the left side. The ad changes every time the page is reloaded. It's blocked with:
Possibly add it to EasyList?
Code: Select all
|http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/banners/*
Added.
After the ad is blocked, there is a white box left behind on the right side of the page. I'm using this filter to block it:
Maybe find a way to shorten it and add it to Easylist?
Code: Select all
majorgeeks.com##DIV[style="border-style: solid; border-color: rgb(102, 102, 51); border-width: 3px 0px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"]
I don't think that's worth it. If someone wants to remove it, he can use your rule. -> [user]

There's a text ad near the center/right side for "iobit" on these kind of pages. http://www.majorgeeks.com/The_Gimp_d4485.html
Added
Code: Select all
majorgeeks.com##table[align="right"][width="336"][style="padding-left: 5px;"]

There's an image ad on the left hand column under "Feeds" that gets by now. Also on the very bottom of the site there is an image link of "a^2 authorized affiliate". I'm not sure if that is an ad or not, but if it is can that be blocked as well? The site is http://www.majorgeeks.com/. Thanks.
Do you mean http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/mg120.jpg ? That's just self-promotion.Sam wrote:There's an image ad on the left hand column under "Feeds" that gets by now.
Not really an ad either.Sam wrote: Also on the very bottom of the site there is an image link of "a^2 authorized affiliate".

Hey Ares that image that you say is self-promotion often changes to other images as well. Yesterday it was an ad for the Maxthon browser. Today it was an image ad for pricegrabber. It doesn't always stay the same, so I believe it's an ad. Sometimes they don't advertise anything there like right now. Also this might be nitpicking but is there a way to remove the words "advertisement" in the three locations located on the main page? They're at the the top, left, and right columns.
I see. But that's too specific to be added to EasyList (especially because they are not annoying in any way).Sam wrote:Hey Ares that image that you say is self-promotion often changes to other images as well.

I think you have to browse a bit on the site. It appeared for me after clicking on an other tool there.Michael wrote:||pricegrabber.com/export_feeds.php?*&banner_size= wouldn't work for me. I suspect that the site has been altered.
