Hi,
On our news site, recently Youtube videos are blocked by ABP unless the Easylist is removed
Youtube embeds are blocked.
e.g.
Code: Select all
http://www.jpost.com/Diaspora/Disturbing-undercover-video-of-Hasidic-principal-prompts-sex-abuse-probe-453047
Please help!
Thx,
Ilan

Stop using revolving adservers to remove these filters (

What do you mean revolving ad servers? The video embed has ads?

No, jpost.com keeps changing adservers to circumvent EasyList. That's why the stricter blocking rules smed79 linked are needed.

There is no "circumvent" ad servers, you can block anything you wish, but you can't break the site!

Hi,
The filter has been removed now.
Actually is Jpost.com that contains adverts from revolving ad servers and that's why we were forced to use such drastic measures to block them, sorry for them.
Are you a webmaster for Jpost.com?

Hi thank you for your reply,
I'm not the webmaster, I run social media for the site Jpost.com.
What exactly is rotating Adservers and what should we do in order to remove the block?
Once again Yotube videos are not seen on some computers , and we also lost the OUTBRAIN internal recommendations.
This is hurting our pageviews,
Please unblock us and let me know exactly what to say to the programmers.
Thanks,
Ilan

The following of revolving adservers (recently):
||gitload.site^$third-party
||pullapi.site^$third-party
...
By all means you can search for the recent additions:
https://hg.adblockplus.org/easylist/log?rev=jpost
If you can remove these type of ad servers (and stop countering adblock filters), I'll remove the jpost filters.
I've looked into it further, and it seems the script "
http://po2.boostshow.com/magnifier.js " is loading these adscripts, which might be checking geo-locations.

Your concern should be dealing with Ads, not breaking the website functionality.
If you broke something, you should fix it, you can't "punish us" and you can't avoid fixing the things you have broken while trying to block ads.
we've never used any whitelist to show ads, and we will never use it, all that I'm asking is that you will keep the same website functionality for Adblock users.

Why can't they punish you again? Oh wait, they can. You should have thought about that before trying to circumvent EasyList.

Hi,
How can I find which script is calling
http://po2.boostshow.com/magnifier.js ?
It's not in the page source.
And what is
Code: Select all
||gitload.site^$third-party
||pullapi.site^$third-party?
Is this in our code?
(The user called Jpost is not connected to me. Please ignore him)
Thanks

Thanks for that,
But you didn't tell me where I can find this script and disable it.
PLEASE shoot an email to ilany AT jpost.com before you block us again and let us find the interruption first.

Why do you have to ask questions about the site you're working for here? Just ask whoever is in charge of the site's code. Then tell them to not use revolving adservers so you don't get blocked.

I'll leave the current filters, but if jpost decides to start countering us again with revolving adservers I'll re-add the jpost filters.
